Our History

Susan Werner, founder of Addington Confections, has many fond memories of days spent with her grandmother as they made delicious english toffee for family and friends.

Today, Susan passes on her memories and cooking tips to her daughter, Selby, the next generation master confectioner. In fact, Selby was one of the early instigators of the company encouraging Susan to take the toffee public.
GranAnn (Susan’s mother) is part of this multi-generational tofee team as well. She has package more to!ee in the nine years since our launching than you can imagine. Her one for you, one for me style though has lead to doubling our batch size just to accommodate her sweet tooth!

Full of memories, rich with taste of butter and chocolate to tantalize the tongue....topped with the satisfying flavor of nuts, this to!ee is made according to a family recipe dating back to the 1800’s. We still slow cook the candy in small batches with no corn syrup or preservatives, just like it was done at the turn of the century.

Today, our toffee remains a family tradition with three generations of Addington women playing a critical role in hand crafting and presentation of this delectable candy. We wish to share those memories with you.
